SOUTH AFRICA:MTN CELEBRATES WOMAN EXCELLENCE AT A GALA EVENT
Launched in 1994,the MTN group is a multinational telecommunications group,operating in 22 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.The ICT sector recognise the role that women have played towards the growth of the ICT sector in South Africa
The Awards were presented in Johannesburg at a gala event which marked the culmination of the women in ICT-Partnership for change Awards-initiative.Kagiso Medias-East Coast Radio,Jacarandas and IT web Brainstorm has join MTN SA as partnership for the inaugural programme.
The Entrepreneur Recognition Award in the women in ICT was named as the winner for the prolific business woman IRENE CHARNLEY,on recognition of the viable business she founded,smile communications,which is trailblazing across the continent.
Aisha Mohammed was announced the winner in the leadership recognition Award category in the women in ICT-partnership for change Awards.her accolade was presented in recognition of the proven depth of experience she has showed in leading change.
For introducing new methods,ideas that are contributing into the delivery of a bold, new digital world,Stephanie Cowper was honoured and selected as the winner of the innovator recognition Award.The panel of judges named Zimkita Buwa as the winner of the category of outstanding woman ICT professional.Dianne Broodryk was declared the winner of the category of community Builder Award.The excellence in ICT journalism Award recognizes a journalist who has contributed immensely to creating a better understanding of the ICT industry through their reporting in this category ,Thabiso Mochiko ICT writer at Business Day/Financial Mail was named as the winner .
In the Graduate Award Category in the women in ICT-Partnership for change Awards,Sharon Rao Farista from Haward Business School(2015) was proclaimed as the winner.The winner of the sponsors Leadership Award is Eileen Wilton,CEO of GIJIMA.He was recognise of the role she has played over the years as a source of great inspiration to many young professionals and in recognition of the outstanding work she has done in turning around GIJIMA.
